Galloway Company is credited with helping to bring reduced-fat soft serve to Wisconsin. Until the late 1940s, it was illegal in Wisconsin to sell frozen dairy desserts that did not contain at least 10 percent butterfat. Galloway Company lobbied the state legislature to change the law, paving the way for soft serve to be sold in Wisconsin.
